Customs Representative José M. Guimarães da Costa began operating for more than 45 years, in 1974.
The Ordem dos Despachantes Oficiais is one of the public associations that regulate the professions advertised. Even though there are references to customs representatives since the 16th century, the profession would only be established and its exercise properly regulated by Decree Nº7 of the 7th of December, 1864, which was signed by King D. Luís.
The Official Dispatcher José M. Guimarães da Costa began its activity in 1974, having a relevant position in the area of customs, from the point of view of professional valences, as well as automobiles, industrial and food oils, food, electronics, among others.
The relationship with some clients is more than 35 years old. This customer retention capacity is due to the stability of the quality of service, strict compliance with the rules imposed by customer structures, strong commitment to diligence, and to successfully solve problems arising from the activity.
In 2019, Joaquim Guimarães da Costa – Master in Management by the University of Lisbon and Official Dispatcher with number 635 –, becomes the CEO of GDC | Global Compliance.
